The team around PD Murua Escobar at the Department of Haematology, Oncology and Palliative Medicine at the University Medical Centre Rostock is looking for a committed and motivated research assistant.

You will support us in the visualisation of next generation sequencing results in the field of DNA
and RNA analysis in oncology. Using available R-tools, the temporal course of the disease is to
be visualised from comprehensive genetic data sets and the influence of therapeutic interventions
is to be evaluated. By visually processing the data, patterns and trends can be identified that may
contribute to improving diagnostics and treatment in the future.
As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to work at the interface between medical
research and clinical translation and gain valuable experience in an interdisciplinary academic
environment.

Tasks:

• Supporting the implementation and establishment of bioinformatics algorithms and software tools
• Data acquisition, analysis and interpretation using statistical methods
• Supporting the translation into clinical diagnostics

Requirements:

• Enrolled student (m/f/d) in the field of bioinformatics, computer science, mathematics or a comparable field of study
• Sound application knowledge in R
• Interest in medical questions
• Ability to work in a team and good communication skills
• Good written and spoken English skills
