In June 2019, as in previous years, the two-day National Conference took place this time with Norway as a partner country in Rostock-Warnemuende.

Various representatives of the healthcare industry met, there were parallel workshops and lively discussions, and some participants presented their start-ups in the exhibition (see content here).

The panel discussion with Bettina Martin (Minister of Education of the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania), Wolfgang Schareck (Rector of the University of Rostock and President of the Kuratorium Gesundheitswirtschaft der Land Mecklenburg-Vorpommern) and moderator Annette Kremser (Head of Strategy, Communication and International Affairs (LGF1) of Forschungszentrum Jülich GmbH) was held on 12.06.2019 for our association.

Topic of the session was: "Young researchers in health research - what opportunities does the country's excellence research program offer?".

At the beginning, the funded joint projects were each presented with a short video and briefly discussed between Frau Kremser and two junior researchers from each project. The research association iRhythmics project was represented by our PhD students Sophie Kussauer (Cardiac Surgery, University Medical Center Rostock) and Markus Wolfien (SBI, University of Rostock) (see photo). Following the presentation of the joint project, they both explained the day-to-day life and importance of collaboration between biologists and systems biologists / bioinformaticians within the consortium.

In addition to S. Kussauer and M. Wolfien, the project coordinator Prof. Dr. R. David, Dr. A.-M. Galow (Leibniz Institute for Farm Animal Biology, Dummerstorf,) M. Bartsch (Technical Assistant iRhythmics), Dr. U. Müller-Ruch (Translation Heart Surgery) and Dr. A. Skorska (Project Manager iRhythmics) also participated in the conference.
